During the first readings images often emerged that were tied to the poetry of Montale and Proust's prose on the theme of indifference, very present in the reactions of Chris, the male lead. The novel tells the story of an intimate love that consumes the stars, the space station be suspended in the atmosphere, with an emphasis on the reactions of a man in front of the intensity of their feelings. The author of Solaris depicts the encounter with something new, not placement, which may be unknown precisely the knowledge of a woman but also the knowledge of the world ol'approccio destabilizing a new idea, never considered previously. The installation of the text by Paola Traverso actress Angela Antonini achieved together creates a "combination" of words and verses woven into a single plot. E 'with literary images like those of Eugenio Montale, Marcel Proust, Michelangelo Antonioni, William Shakespeare, Italo Calvino that the mono-dialogue continues with the opening lines from Antony and Cleopatra W. Shakespeare, through Hamlet "to be or not to be" surrounded by psychedelic colors and dazzling images of Solaris. This texture never forced, is the need to overcome the tragic love story between a man and a woman, to say the complexity of the comparison, without sacrificing the beauty and can be reached of falling.
The director: The dialogues are read and interpreted by an actress in one scene, with a few essential props, draw a continuous movement of lines and shapes that pass through the space. On stage, the white pages of the text themselves become the body to approach the face, leave on the floor, bring in the air, stomp, scenic body with eyes that spring up, dancing, talking as if the representation of the 'other', the unknown we face, as if to represent the melee of the authors with the raw material of the novel. The musical texture that ranges from Ligeti, Berio to, from Radiohead to Villa Lobos, via Natasha Atlas another cornerstone of the direction of Massimo D'barley. The body creates the musical sound space of the planet Solaris, the cramped and mysterious corridors of the space station and the atmospheric temperature of every single scene.
