Abdia
Leviamoci contro Edom a combattere!' 2 Behold, I make thee small among the nations, you are deeply despised. 3 The pride of your heart has deceived, or you who live between the cracks of the rocks, which are high your dwelling place, that you say in your heart, 'Who will draw me down to earth ? ' 4 Even if you did your nest as high as the eagle, even if you would put him among the stars, I will draw you down there, "says the Lord. 5 If thieves or de 'robbers were you at night, how would you ruin! Do not steal what they enough? If you came from de 'harvesters, not leave something to raise? 6 O how Esau been searched! How were searched for hidden treasures! 7 All your allies t'han messed up at the border and those who were at peace with yourself You got cheated, have prevailed against you, those who eat your bread tend trap under your feet , and you have no discernment! 8 On that day, saith the LORD, I will disappear from Edom and the wise men from the mountain of Esau discernment. 9 And your warriors, or Teman, will be dismayed, for the last man to be cut off from the mount of Esau, in the massacre.
The crimes of Edom
10 A cause of the violence done to your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame and you will be cut off forever. 11 The day you were at the front, on the day of foreigners menavano captive his forces, and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them . 12 Ah! do not feed on the look of the day of your brother, on the day of his misfortune. Do not rejoice de 'sons of Judas the day their ruin, and not speak so proudly in the day of trouble. 13 not enter the gate of my people on the day of their calamity, do not feed the look, too, of his grief on the day of their calamity, and not lay hands on his property the day of its disasters. 14 Do not stop on the crossroads to cut off his fugitives; and not give into the hands of his enemy survivors, on the day of trouble!
15 Since the day of Jehovah is near for all nations, as you did, so you will be done, your actions you will fall on the head. 16 For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so drink all the nations of the continuum, drink, swallow, and will be as if they had never been.
final triumph of Judah
17 But on Mount Zion there will be some survivors, and it shall be holy, and the house of Jacob will regain his possessions. 18 The house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau stubble, whom they fired upon and devour: and nothing more remains of the house of Esau; for the LORD has spoken. 19 Those of the south shall possess the mount of Esau, and those of the plain land of the 'Philistines shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin will possess Gilead. 20 The fortunes of the army of the sons of Israel who are among the Canaanites to Zarephath, and the exiles of Jerusalem who are in Sefarad, will possess the cities of the south. 21 and liberators will go up on Mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau and the kingdom will be Yahweh.
Edom, proud and proud to Jerusalem, he thought he could escape the mighty hand of God His evil deeds tearing the weak and they did advance to an unholy way. Yet the Lord said 2 Behold, I make thee small among the nations, you are deeply despised. 3 The pride of your heart has deceived, or you who live between the cracks of the rocks, which are high your dwelling place, that you say in your heart, 'Who me draw down to earth? '
Woe to us men who think they can avoid the hand of the Lord. What are we intoxicated by our pride and we delude ourselves to be able to dwell on the peaks without ever come down.
4 Even if you did your nest as high as the eagle, even if you would put him among the stars, I will draw you down there, "says the Lord.
Even our nest was above the sky, well beyond the hand of the root level would be proud of our safety.
11 The day you were at the front, on the day of foreigners menavano captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them. 12 Ah! do not feed on the look of the day of your brother, on the day of his misfortune. Do not rejoice de 'sons of Judah on the day of their ruin, and not speak so proudly in the day of trouble.
We, who are as Edom, which speak ill of others and enjoy the day of his distress, we do not enjoy, "says the Most High.
15 Since the day of Jehovah is near for all nations, as you did, so you will be done, your actions you will fall on his head.
The day of the Lord is not just for the children of God, but also for the ungodly. Do not let us look around when we come to this book, but rather we look at ourselves.
Each of us will be the day that the Lord should approach him and then we will be done as we did to him and to others.
17 But on Mount Zion there will be some survivors, and it shall be holy, and the house of Jacob will regain his possessions. 18 The house of Jacob will be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau stubble, and that they set fire to devour: and nothing more remains of the house of Esau, for the LORD has spoken. 21 And the liberators go up on Mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau and the kingdom will be Yahweh.
The final part of this chapter is symbolic because it represents the division that the Lord will put into place for his beloved. The wicked will be destroyed, because there is no place for him to Almighty God, but the righteous shall reign with him.
